Agnes Zawadzki

This dress, done for Agnes Zawadzki’s 2012 short program, was a Middle Eastern style costume designed to go with the music from ‘Sex and the City 2’ that was a collection of songs from the original sound track of the movie.  Agnes and I decided on the color of turquoise for the body of the dress, and darker turquoise for the faux sash that drapes across the front.  We had quite a few choices of colors from which to choose – dresses for this genre tend to be very bright and vivid colors – hot pink, hot orange and bright turquoise are common choices.

The stoning for this style of dress often incorporates draping jewelry on the midriff areas, ornate necklaces, and hand and wrist jewelry.  The 2-piece look of the costume and the beautiful choreography of David Wilson, along with the fast-paced music from the score made this a beautiful and memorable performance.
